The Southeast TN Child Care Resource & Referral is hiring a new Early Childhood Quality Coach

This position will support the referral, education, and training needs of child care educators. Early Childhood Quality Coaches will work with child care educators to help them understand the importance of high quality child care in the healthy development of children. Early Childhood Quality Coaches will also focus on working with child care educators to develop an Enhanced Quality Improvement Plan (EQIP). You would provide coaching, training and/or technical assistance, and develop applicable training resources for local child care educators, and community groups. These coaches are located at the Southeast regional office in Chattanooga and support a multi-county service area.

This candidate must live in and be able to service the following counties: Hamilton, Bledsoe, Bradley, Grundy, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Polk, Rhea and Sequatchie.

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the CCR&R Site Coordinator:         

  1. Provide coaching, training, technical assistance and support to local child care educators in assigned service areas in response to referrals from CCDF partners and/or the state.
  2. Collaborate with specialty coaches to provide targeted technical assistance to child care educators.
  3. Stay current on emerging research in the field of early childhood education.
  4. Contact all child care agencies, family and group homes in service delivery area at least once per year.
  5. Maintain extensive knowledge of Tennessee Star Quality System.
  6. Deliver scheduled training events for the quarterly training calendar both virtually and in person.
  7. Become a CPR/First Aid certified trainer.
  8. Contribute content to the CCR&R quarterly newsletters as requested.
  9. Positively market the CCR&R Network to the community.
  10. Participate in staff meetings and planning and program development meetings.
  11. Enter data electronically in a timely manner and create and maintain a filing system for original data (hard copies) of work completed.
  12. Support the development of child care agency Continuous Quality Improvement Plans using the CCR&R Network Enhanced Quality Improvement Program.
  13. Participate in advisory committee meetings, partner meetings and other meetings as requested.
  14. Assist with promoting awareness of the CCR&R to child care educators and others within the community regarding services.
  15. Attend required trainings to increase knowledge and skills.
  16. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience. Direct care experience in a licensed child care center is preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Demonstrated ability to train adult learners.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and Saturdays.
  • Physical examination and record of negative TB test results must be on file with Signal Centers, Inc.
  • Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance required.  Local, regional, and statewide travel with occasional overnight stays is required.
